Top 6 One Deal a Day Sites Plus Tips

Daily deal sites are popping up as quickly as popcorn on a hot burner!

If you don’t know what I’m referring to then you might be missing the strong dose of estrogen necessary to feel the pull to these websites. I’m a shopper but I demand a bargain so I am willing to hunt for something to get the best deal, whether it’s online shopping or traditional bricks and mortar.

I’ve done the research for you shoppers out there so that you can join in the fun with me online for the best one-deal-a day sites.  Whether you are a foodie, a spa-aholic, a vacationer, a closet medi-spa consumer, an activity hunter, a gym rat, a movie go-er, or a self-proclaimed, out-of-the-closet, general shop-aholic, you are sure to find daily deals on these sites that will tempt you. Click on the site’s icon and you’ll be transported to Nirvana.

Most of these sites have deals that expire the same day and daily steals that have been especially negotiated for their viewers. In other words, you won’t find these steals advertised in the newspaper. The websites push the vendors to really create a noteworthy daily deal so that they can keep their audience. Additionally many of them offer incentives to you when you tell your friends about the daily offering and reward you handsomely. That makes it even more fun, don’t you think! Keep reading for even more fun information.

Tip #1

How to Use the Daily Offers Sites

Daily Deal D8Night at the WallOne of the ways I use the sites is if I have a plan to go out for the evening or the upcoming week. I’ll check in with my One Deal A Day sites for the best offer in my area. The sites I’m covering in this lens are NATIONAL SITES, with representation in most major cities, but believe me you are sure to find local deals on your penny saver websites or even the small, local newspaper websites. Be sure to look for those too!

Another way I use them is if I want to do something special & different at a steep discount, maybe try something short term to see if I’ll like it. For example I might try out pilates on a reformer, go skydiving for my birthday (which I did!) or sign up for a sailing class. I can’t wait to use the aerial gym deal I bought to see if I have any Cirque du Soleil talents!

Tip #2

RSS Subscriptions to the One Deal A Day Sites

Now, because you are a shopper and not a computer wizard, you may not know some of the tricks of the trade to harness the power of these sites. You may even be getting daily emails from each daily steal site that just clutter your in-box. I’ll setup you up with an insider trick that allows you to quickly and easily read the headlines on each site. If you want that tip and the top one-deal-a-day sites, read on.

First things first, the tip on viewing the daily offers then I’ll get to the sites & a few bonus sites that you might not have thought of using for this type of daily deal discount. If you have a gmail account (and if you don’t, you might as well get one because they are free and because Google has a million resources that will be put at your fingertips when you enroll-another techy tip. And by the way, I’m a chick who loves these tricks that simplify my life so I’m pleased to share them with my other estrogen-amped friends who might not be “in the know!”)

Where was I? Oh, yeah, with a gmail account, you can load each sites’ RSS feed into your Google Reader. Look for the RSS button on each site (that little orange button that looks like it’s shooting out waves of info). If the site offers RSS feeds, the little orange RSS button may also be displayed in your browser box or below it on the tool bar somewhere. CLICK ON IT and subscribe to the feed! You can also save it to your desktop Bookmarks where you can just peak at it daily for the headlines of the offers you have subscribed to.

If you saved it to Your Google Reader account, you’ll find it there and it’s just like an email box but better because it’s just got the headlines and is faster to get through. I really hope you are getting this. It’s very hard to explain without the benefit of photos.

Bonus Restaurant & Entertainment Sites

1. Restaurant.com

Restuarant.com Offers Daily Steals Restaurant.com is probably one of the original daily deal sites that’s been a bit forgotten due to the celebrity of those young ‘uns but still a noteworthy site in my estimation and here is why:

My best deal on this site was $2 for a $25 gift certificate at the restaurant of my choice in my neighborhood (not all restaurants participate, naturally). I had to spend $35 on my meal, bringing my total investment up to $12 for a $35 meal. Now that’s a bargain, don’t you think?

Tip #3 Check in with me on Facebook (see buttons top right of the blog) to see what the weekly coupon is to get those even more spectacular savings.
